The D.I.N.E. Corporation Scholarship

The D.I.N.E. Corporation Scholarship is supported by an endowment created to recognize academically talented students in The State of California.  High school seniors planning to attend a State of California College or University are eligible for this scholarship. Verifiable documentation of eligibility is required.

Selection Criteria:

  • Membership in an underrepresented racial or ethnic groups
  • Life experience growing up in a culturally diverse neighborhood
  • Life experiences growing up in an economically disadvantaged condition
  • First person in the family to complete high school or attend college
  • Recent marked improvement in academic performance
  • State Standardized test scores
  • Quality of academic performance relative to educational opportunities in the applicant’s school

Definition:

State Standardized Test: is the passing/proficiency rate used to analyze and compare school performance in a particular state.

Economically Disadvantage / Low income:  applicants who are eligible for federal free and/or reduced priced meal programs are thereby considered economically disadvantaged or low income.

Underrepresented racial/ethnic groups:  African Americans, Native Americans and Hispanic who are legal citizens.
